Field Trips:

In the Ottawa area there are many rock collecting sites of interest, and these provide great destinations for our field trips. Interested members also organize and participate on longer trips to regions such as the North Shore of Lake Superior and the Maritimes.

1. May 8, OLMC expedition to Bancroft Beryl Pit (meet at OLMC workshop on 8:00 a.m.)
2. May 8, Beamsville expedition (announced in newsletter)
3. June 10, OLMC auction
4. August long weekend, Superior north shore - Thunder Bay
5. October 11, Mont St. Hilaire Quarry (aka Poudrett Quarry), 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., $10/person. Safety equipment is compulsory.
6. October 30, Marmoraton Quarry - John Jones, 613 472 6303. Safety equipment is compulsory.

Field trips are open to members only. 2010 members must remember to renew their memberships prior.

Safety equipment may be required in some areas. Safety equipment includes steel-cap boots, security vest, safety goggles, hard hat and gloves.
